Week 17 – Loving Thoughts and the War Room Movie
On Tuesday I had a very hurtful argument with a loved one. Things were said and feelings were hurt, and the pain was so great that I felt some of the things said were unforgiveable. I was scheduled to go to a ladies’ night out with a friend to see a movie, and was grateful for the distraction of the event.
Little did I know that the movie would hit me hard in so many areas and jostle me out of the unforgiveness I had in my heart. One of the scenes that knocked me down was the scene between Miss Clara and Elizabeth, shown in the clip below.
So I left the theater, convicted that I needed to forgive, to extend grace, just as Jesus did for me when He died on the cross. I sat down, started a prayer journal, and pulled Bible verses to strengthen my resolve to keep extending grace and love. And in focusing on these verses, and my desire for the love – the positive – to be returned to the relationship, I felt the love return.
In Part 17, Haanel exhorts us to focus on what we want. We have learned the Law of Substitution and the Law of Growth.
In Phil. 4:8, Paul tells us: “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things.”
