Week 10 – The Diet

I haven’t posted much about the mental diet because, quite frankly, I was not able to go more than a few hours before I would have to restart.

I was doing really well this week, notwithstanding the fact that both my girls were sick this week. The stomach bug hit them pretty hard, and although I was no more compassionate than I usually am when they are sick, I was more at peace with them, and handled things better. So the mental diet went better. I still restarted a couple of times, but I had actually gone for a couple of days until this morning.

I’m not supposed to have an opinion, so suffice it to say that I was irritated after a phone call and I was unable to shake it in seven seconds. Then I was doubly irritated by the phone call AND having to restart the diet.

But I persevere. The DMP recording – in my own voice, and each statement repeated twice – has an effect on me that reading it aloud doesn’t quite have. The music, perhaps? The sound of Claire de Lune? The subby responds in a powerful way. Proof yet again that Mark, Davene and the MKMMA tribe leaders know what they are doing.

It’s coming. Slowly but surely.

  • That’s so AWESOME, Suzanne! I love how tuned it you are as the observer! With the mental diet it’s not how far we go, after all, it’s how much we learn along the way! Great job!

Congrats on going for a couple of days with only positive thoughts!!!

  • That’s awesome Suzanne, tending to your babies takes allot of mental effort in itself. It’s the journey.

  • Chiara says:

I can relate. I also keep on restarting, but we are making progress and we persevere!!

Great Post. I love the way you were able to see the positive of the diet working in your life.

  • Liane says:

Going a few hours without a negative thought Suzanne puts you already over the average person, you should not forget that. The awareness counts, even if you have to restart, becoming more and more aware of your thoughts and being able to influence them in a positive way is the objective and that you seem to cover. Thanks for sharing.

Liane, thank you for that reminder. I still need to do better about not beating myself up so much, and celebrate the progress I am making. I appreciate that reminder.
